The Day After...

Hey, that was an old movie title. Hmm. Anyway, today is the day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday and I'm at work. Apparently on some bad intel, I neglected to request the day off. Ooops! I will remember that for next year. :) Anyway, the Queen went off on a shopping spree and I was left to bring the little folk into work with me. They are currently quietly enjoying a movie here in my office. Once the Queen is done with her insanity, she'll come retrieve them.

There have been a few other developments over the course of the last couple of weeks as well. The Queen now has Bronchitis (she gets it about 2 or 3 times a year) and as a result, her mother was at out castle helping her last week and fell off my deck. It is about a 10-11 inch drop, but she fractured her right fibula and sprained (possibly fractured) her left ankle. That made Turkeyday really interesting this year since we celebrate it at the Queen's mother's place.

At least everyone liked my turkey. I'm glad of that and it turns out I could have started it a couple of hours later that I did, but who needs sleep, right? :)

Now that it's over, I just want to take a nice long nap, but I have to be here at work manning the fort. Luck for me, it's been really dead so far and I've already completed one of the two things I need to finish for the day. Once I'm done with that, I'll just surf the net until I can leave for the day.

What a week! I'm glad it's nearly over. :)

Thank You!

To all our veterans, I say Thank You! I never served in the military and I didn't have any immediate family serve that I can remember. I had a great grandfather serve in WWII and certain times of the year remind me that I miss him greatly.

I so wish I could talk to him about things that are going on or introduce him to my 2 little girls and my wife, but he's been gone for the better part of 2 decades.

Patriotic holidays and his birthday really upset me because it reminds me so much of what he was about. I miss him greatly and wish I could tell him Thank You for all the freedoms he helped defend.

I'd like to extend that thanks to all the veterans of all our military and civil branches who put themselves in harms way for our sakes.

Thank You!

Listed.

The car has been listed with a local paper website. Hopefully we'll get some interest in it soon and can get it sold shortly. If there's anyone in the SLC area who is interested in it, please feel free to comment.

The car has served us well for over 10 years. We'll miss you Lizzzie! Yes, the car has a name. :)

If you're anything like me, you wear boots nearly all the time. Whether you're looking for hiking boots, work boots, hunting boots, military boots, or some other type of boot altogether, workbootsusa.com is the place to start. With brands like Caterpillar, Danner, Belleville, Matterhorn, Bates, and more, the selection is such that you're bound to find something you'll like.

Also, they're made right here in the good old United States of America. The makers stand behind their products and orders of $50 or more get free shipping! If you're in the market for a pair of boots, go check them out.

Election!

The election is over and Barack Obama has won. I'm proud that my fellow American people have decided to choose an inclusive, change-bringing leader. I hope he can live up to the promises he's made and can deliver on those very same promises.

I have a bit of hope in my country again as a result of our choice. I understand that shome of you will disagree with my choice and that's your right, but I feel we chose the better of the two candidates this time around.

Hooray, America! :)

Parking Ticket - Really?

So what that the registration ran out on the car at the end of last month. We got a new car and haven't been driving the car that got the ticket, but it happened to be parked on a public street, so it got a ticket after only 4 days. Grrr!

Wish us luck on selling it! If any of you are interested in a 1996 Dodge Intrepid ES, please comment. :)
