Since I suck at posting meaningful entries, I'll update a few events from previous postings.
After 2 months, Facebook has finally gotten back to my wife to inform her that her case is under review. WTF! Have those butt-munches not ever heard of the concept of "Customer Service"? Really? 2 months to say it's under review? They also flat lied to her saying that they had issued multiple warnings to her when in fact they hadn't issued a single one. So I guess we wait an additional 2 months for them to realize they didn't send any warnings and that she isn't a computer program.
Moving on...
The hole in the yard has been dealt with and the entire yard has greened up nicely. I need to to ratchet down the sprinklers a bit more and mow the thing, but it's otherwise doing great. Too bad the previous owner was such a cheapskate and used a sub-par stop & waste valve. Can you believe the guy is a general contractor running a home remodeling business? How can you have a business like that and do such shoddy work on your own home? How can you justify supporting your deck on piles of construction trash? That's yet another item I need to correct.
Next item...
We went on vacation this year to our local city. That's right, we had a stay-cation. While it wasn't as glamorous as flying to Florida or driving to Cali to have fun, it was just a full of stuff to do and just as exhausting as the other, more expensive route we could have taken. It took me the better part of a week at work to recover from the activities. I'm not saying I was slacking or anything like that so don't Dooce me, but I am saying that work was less hectic and stressful. Next time, it's a few days sitting on the beach drinking cool drinks, reading books, building sand castles. That sounds good, right? :)

1st Day Back
Today was the 1st day back from vacation and I have to say, it was the most relaxing day in the last week. :)
There was less than 30 minutes of driving total, and there weren't any hills to traverse. I'd say that was a pretty relaxing day, how about you? :)
I'm sure the Queen will have a boatload of pictures to post at some point, but for now just know that I missed each and every 3 of you who read this on a regular basis. :)
Thank you for your patronage. :)

How Much More Can I Slack!
Boy! I've really slacked on my postings. There is no excuse for it, so I will offer up none.
My son is more that 3 months old and gaining weight. he regularly smiles and Mommy and me and occasionally adds in a coo. :)
I've actually started working again in the basement of the house. As you'll recall, I basically took 3 months off, but I've gotten back into it. If I do something on it each day, I feel like I'm making progress and I'm a lot more motivated to do more. Perhaps, I'll post some pictures or something - yeah right, re-read the title, please.
I'm trying not to be so grouchy in my posts, as you'll see by the fact that it's been so long since I posted ANYTHING on my flame blog.
I'm also attempting to reduce the size of the bellybag (pronounced FAT) attached to the front of my frame.
We're going on vacation soon and I'm getting pumped up to see some old friends and have a chance to rest and relax a bit.
That's what's going on. I'll try to be better in the future.

Sleep Inn - How Dost Thou Sucketh?
Let me count the ways. Not really, but I became quite annoyed when our room key stopped working each and EVERY day at our hotel stay. I swear, did they really not want our money? The service in that regard was so bad that they were constantly blaming us for the keys not working.
The room was not too bad overall, a bit on the small side, with only double beds, but other than that, the only real gripe I had was when we were continually locked out of the room and at times building unless we trekked all the way around to the front desk.
It is possible that they just had some really incompetent front desk employees, in which case they need to be either fired or trained. I don't know which was the case, and I don't care. The point is that they should have known how to program the cards so that they wouldn't lock us out each day.

Family and Vacation...
Whew! We just got back from vacation. I'm not sure I can call it a vacation in that I'm as tired (or more so) as I was before we left. I suppose it's not a failure when all the people involved are still alive when it's over. I'm just not sure that some of what we went through was worth the trouble.
My girls met my mother for the first time during this vacation and I'm going to have to talk with them some time soon to see what they thought of the whole thing. They also met my mom's mother, and sisters, and a cousin and an aunt (this part was NOT planned more like SPRUNG) as the plan was to only introduce the girls to 2 people they'd never met. That part was annoying, but typical of the way that side of my dysfunctional family works.
The other side of my family has its issues (primarily planning just about anything), but once we are aware that they have planned something, we can just suck it up and realize that while it may not go as planned (and it usually won't) It's almost guaranteed to be entertaining.
So, all-in-all, it wasn't a complete wreck, but it was certainly not the IDEAL vacation that I would have hoped.
Hopefully, the next one will be better and a lot more relaxing.
Go, check out The Queen's Blog for more info and I'm sure she'll be posting pics soon. :)
The next posts will contain a few gripes about bad service, so if you're planning on flying with Delta or staying at a Sleep Inn, please stay tuned for future posts.

I Want To Go On A Cruise...
...for my honeymoon, albeit 10 or so years too late. The Queen and I never went on a honeymoon when we were married oh so many years ago. I've wanted to go on a cruise again since 1992 when I got to cruise to the Bahamas with my college roommate. I know the Queen hasn't really gone on a cruise and I think she'd really enjoy herself.
As I said before, I cruised to the Bahamas. It was incredible to be out on the ocean in the sunshine simply relaxing and forgetting all about anything that had worried me before. The ship made port in several locations and I got the chance to go snorkeling above a live reef. That was one of the most memorable experiences I've ever had.
I think I'd like to cruise to the Hawaiian Islands next time, though I'm not sure how long that would take. :) I'd also be interested in another Caribbean cruise, only this time with the Queen instead of my college roommate.
If you've been considering a cruise to somewhere warm and exotic, try Apple Vacations, Disney Cruise Lines, Princess Cruise Lines, or any of the others you can reach through the good folks at www.all-travel.com.
Right now, it's a little on the chilly side here in the U.S. Why not warm up the blood and go on a cruise.

Whew!
I'm happy to be back. All the long lines and pushing the girls around, etc has finally come to an end. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the time away from work. I deserved it, but our vacations all seem to extract more work from me that the amount of relaxation it gives. Perhaps it's just me...
Anyway, I'm back now and if you want to read about the vacation, you can check out the Queen's blog and you can get a day-by-day running commentary, complete with instant replay and illustrations... OK, so no play replay or illustrations, but you do get lots of pictures. :)
Yesterday was actually the first full day we were back, but I just wanted to be lazy. :)
Enjoy the brevity of this post as you read the Queen's novel.
